The FCC and OSHA have set limits on human exposure to RF energy to ensure the safety of anyone walking or working near wireless antennas. As a result, antenna owners or licensees must run a compliance study for new or modified RF environments to verify that the site’s RF emissions meet the requirements on exposure limits. SiteSafe provides independent, professional, third-party compliance studies that meet the FCC’s mandate and provide our customers with an increased level of liability protection. These studies can be performed on any type of wireless facility, and we have certified more than 100,000 rooftops, towers, and water tanks for RF compliance. SiteSafe’s RF exposure compliance services include:
Any antenna structure built in close proximity to an AM broadcast station has the possibility of distorting the station’s antenna pattern, which would violate FCC regulations. While wireless signals do not interfere with an AM station’s signals, the antenna structure itself, depending on its height and proximity, can intercept a substantial amount of energy from a nearby station, re-radiate it, and scatter it in other directions. By doing so, the structure produces unapproved changes in the shape of the station’s FCC-licensed coverage area. Wireless licensees must therefore protect the AM station’s pattern and either prove that there is no distortion by the construction or modification of a structure, or minimize its impact by “detuning” the site.
The FCC mandates that antenna owners or licensees must ensure that the RF signal from their sites does not interfere with any existing signals from other carriers, Public Safety, etc. Interference and intermodulation studies are necessary to determine the potential of any new or modified signals interfering with existing signals, so owners can plan and design their sites accordingly. SiteSafe performs detailed interference and intermodulation studies for proposed antenna sites to determine the potential for interfering with co-located third parties, or to help maximize the use of structure space. SiteSafe’s comprehensive services for interference studies include:
When a new tower or transmission power line is being planned, owners need to take into account and comply with any FAA regulations that may impact the proposed location and ensure that all necessary state and federal forms are filed. SiteSafe provides a comprehensive suite of expert services to address all your needs when it comes to airspace regulation compliance, including:
Both OSHA and the FCC require that individuals with exposure to RF signals in their work environments be aware of the safety issues and how to properly mitigate them. Our RF Safety Notes can give you more detail about what is required and why. In addition to our services that help companies comply with federal RF regulations, SiteSafe offers Peoplesafe® 6.0, our comprehensive RF Safety and Awareness Training program designed specifically for companies whose employees and contractors work on or near transmitting antennas. The Peoplesafe® course covers all aspects of RF safety and certifies that students have obtained a clear understanding of proper practices when working in and around RF environments. Topics covered are:
At SiteSafe, we consider ourselves to be innovators in our field, never resting on what’s already been done. We strive to go further, to offer more. It’s this commitment to excellence that led to our offering of our online platform SpectrumWatch™ . Founded in 1984, SpectrumWatch™ is the premiere online system for the research and application of land mobile wireless licenses. With its multi-faceted tools and daily refreshes of its databases, SpectrumWatch™ allows Frequency Coordinators, licensees, and other interested parties to search and evaluate land mobile wireless licenses with confidence.
In RF Audit we check the following major events through RF Drive Test and then analyze the Log files with proper solution.

A similar argument can be made when deciding whether to implement P25 Phase 1 or Phase 2. The main difference between the two phases is system capacity, so the primary reason for opting for Phase 2 is additional capacity.
Phase 2 TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) doubles the number of talk paths compared with Phase 1. P25 Phase 2 TDMA creates two logical channels in one 12.5kHz physical channel. Because the Phase 2 control channel is unchanged from Phase 1 there is compatibility between the phases.
CW testing is Continuous Wave Testing.
CW testing is the First Phase of Telecom/Mobile Network/Radio Frequency (RF) Planning.
Network Planning/ RF Planning is always start with Continuous Wave Testing Method for all GREENFIELD project.
The main aim of doing CW testing is to gather information to design a propagation model of transmitted signal for mobile communication.
It is carried out to gather actual propagation of mobile signals in different terrain and clutter.
Basic of doing this test is to measure or to know the actual distance, a transmitted signal would travel from a Mobile Base Station that we simply say MOBILE TOWER or SITE.
Propagation Model primarily depends on geography and terrain of a circle.
Secondly it also depends on clutter type e.g. Dense Urban (High rise congested buildings), Urban or Rural area.
This is the traditional method and best method for Model Tuning/Model designing.
This is applicable for all technologies that may be 2G, 3G, LTE or 5G. It is mainly Spectrum dependent test.
With the help of CW testing and Model tuning we can design a model for our network to generate coverage prediction and network planning.
Quality of any network depends on the accuracy of the Propagation Model designed based on CW testing and Model Tuning.
In simple language Model Tuning is done to match the coverage distance of transmitted signal, in field and in Planning Tool for the same frequency and for similar kind of terrain and clutter.
Mentum Planet 5 - the fifth generation of this software platform - was built to address the complex requirements of LTE and WiMAX operators, as well as their consultants and equipment vendors. Microwave frequencies range from 300 MHz to 30 GHz, corresponding to wavelengths of 1 meter to 1 cm. These frequencies are useful for terrestrial and satellite communication systems, both fixed and mobile. In the case of point-to-point radio links, antennas are placed on a tower or other tall structure at sufficient height to provide a direct, unobstructed line-of-sight (LOS) path between the transmitter and receiver sites. In the case of mobile radio systems, a single tower provides point-to-multipoint coverage, which may include both LOS and non-LOS paths. LOS microwave is used for both short- and long-haul telecommunications to complement wired media such as optical transmission systems. Applications include local loop, cellular back haul, remote and rugged areas, utility companies, and private carriers. Early applications of LOS microwave were based on analog modulation techniques, but today’s microwave systems used digital modulation for increased capacity and performance.
